Untreated Yeast Infection – Why It Happens
I must first mention that yeast infections can affect men as well as women.
Without proper treatment, an untreated yeast infection can become a major illness. It is always best to find a cure and avoid a more serious problem.
More than 50 percent of women have had a yeast infection. Most of those women let a yeast infection go untreated for a number of reasons. Cost, shyness and ignorance being three of the most common reasons.
Cost is the main reason people don’t get their yeast infection treated. A lot of people lack the finances needed to treat a yeast infection through doctors appointments and prescriptions.
Another reason for not treating yeast infection is shyness. Yeast infection is normally located in the genital area. This may cause the person to become too shy and embarrassed to talk to their doctor as well as be examined.
Ignorance of the illness is possibly the worst reason. On the other hand if you don’t know its there, you wont think to check for any problems. Ignorance can also cause the infection to worsen in severity.
You can get a severe illness, such as Vulvovaginal Candidas or Sepsis, if a yeast infection is left untreated. Vulvovaginal Candidas is having three or more infections in just one year. Sepsis is a deadly condition of the blood stream that is a result of the spread of bacteria. But getting a severe illness from untreated yeast infection is very rare.
If you have diabetes, you are more likely to have yeast infection and not be aware of it. Many think the symptoms are part of the disease. If that is the case, you need to watch the infection and see if it is occasional, easily treatable, or reoccurring.
When you get yeast infection, most of the time your body will take care of it. The flow of blood raises the pH level in the body. The yeast cells that cause the infection can’t live in a pH environment, therefore being cleared up by the body.
