You would have to be a moron to look at the two ingredient lists and not see a significant difference. One is an energy shot with some vitamins, the other is a complete supplement that happens to give a ton of energy.
The really funny thing is that the Verve Energy Shot is actually priced lower that the 5 hour energy shot. The Verve Energy shot retails at #3 where the 5 hour energy shot is more.
The packaging difference between between the two is significant as well. 5 hour energy comes in a dinky little cheesy container and is only two ounces. The Verve energy shot is 3 ounces and comes in a cool unique shaped package that looks really cool.
When comparing the taste of the 2 different shots, I have to give a significant edge to the Verve Energy shot. It has a unique flavor and a good aftertaste. The 5 hour energy tasted bitter to me and has a nasty aftertaste.
After comparing these two different products, I have reached the conclusion that the Verve Energy shot is here to stay. The Verve Energy delivers more value for the buck, giving more nutrition, a better taste and packaging that is very cool. I see a lot of people making the switch.
